Trace of a Matrix

The trace of a matrix is the sum of the diagonal elements of the matrix.

Let U be the 3x3 unit matrix:

1 0 0
0 1 0
0 0 1

The trace of U is Tr(U) = 3.

Does Tr(5U) = 15 ?
